Bursting at the seams...

Tonight, I'm bursting at the seams (literally and figuratively)! :)
I'm so proud of my cast and crew. They did an amazing job of their play tonight. We did the school show tonight. Our competition show will be in a week and a half. I can't get over how funny they were! For a school where the kids only get the stage the day they actually perform, they blew me away tonight.
It's nights like tonight where I LOVE what I do! :)

out of joint + good-bye 1985

I went to my massage therapist's earlier this week for a routine back massage (I know... I'm spoiled). My upper back's been bothering me on my right side. I asked her about it. She said that I have a rib that the baby's popped out of place. She massaged it back in but, it'll probably happen again. Yeesh... thanks kid!

Today, we are saying good-bye to 1985. I was in kindergarten in 1985 and my parents bought this fabulous set of brown furniture. This was the furniture I took to Lanigan with me. This was the furniture Trevor and I moved into our sweet little house just weeks before our wedding. 24 years is a long time to exist as furniture. 24 years worth of skin dander, dust and yuckiness just building up. Since my sense of smell has improved so much during pregnancy, I began to notice our furniture more... in a very unpleasant way. Therefore, we decided to splurge on one adult thing (as we also spend on a plethora of baby parephanalia) and buy ourselves some new, brown leather furniture. Tonight, we plan on relaxing in style on our new couch, love seat and Lazy-boy rocker. 1985 served us well but, it'll be great to finally enjoy the 21st century.

Cabin Fever + Dashing DIshes

We're feeling a little cooped up at school right now. My poor mod squad... the garbage truck was such a big hit. They couldn't keep their eyes off of it while we were trying to read Ender's Game.
The kids are starting to get anxious and excited for spring. The parking lot is mud soup and the sun is just tempting us to skip class and hang out outside! (I just have 14 days left until Easter break and I don't plan on going back....)
The first day of spring is coming up this week. Let's hope that that actually means we get some warm weather.
Same kind of thing going on at home. Fergus is demanding outside time as much as he can get.

On a whole other note, I participated in my first Dashing Dishes last night. It was awesome. It's a meal assembly company. They have everything all prepped and ready to go in stations. I registered for 8 different meals in advance. Then, I went from station to station, gathering ingredients and putting them into freezer bags. I split all 8 of the meals (a full meal serves 6 people - a little much for our little house) and now, we have 16 ready to cook meals in our freezer. Yummy! Tomorrow, we're having Tim and Karri over for our first Dashing Dishes dining experience. :)

Enough is enough

I have spent 3 days this week sluggin' through this head cold. I should add that I'm doing it completely druglesss. That means all those lovely potions and pills that normally get me through a work week with a cold are banned. I have taught with my head in a complete fog. I've probably been more then forgetful and a little snappy with les enfants. It hasn't helped that it's been -40 every morning either.
Enough is enough! I decided to stay at home today. This would make logical sense to most. However, if you are not a teacher, you have no idea how much work it is to take a sick day. I spent a good 2 1/2 hours prepping for my sub yesterday. I hope the kids are good to him. I hope I won't have to many fires to put out when I get back
This morning, I slept in. I played mouse with Fergus. I tidied and cleaned a little. Now, I'm tuckered out and I plan on spending the rest of the day on the couch marking, prepping and reading. Maybe, I'll move to my bed for a nap.

My man

Trevor started this fabulous new job in HR. He's covering a mat leave but, it's a pretty sweet gig and he's really enjoying a job related to his degree. This week, the gov't (his employer) sent him to Vancouver for some training. Currently, he's eating sushi and enjoying a balmy -5. Can I say jealous?
I miss him! I miss his hugs after I get home from work. I miss cuddling on the couch while watching the Office. It's always weird sleeping alone... I wake up every few hours and wonder where he is, then I really wake up and remember he's away. Fergus and I do okay but, he misses his aggressive play time... I'm not the best kitty wrestler.
Well... it's not like it's a long time before he's back. I'll just enjoy my simple soup suppers and my early bedtimes.

Happiness is...

-A kicking little person inside of me.

-A Friday with no plans or commitments... just my Trevor and me, my slippers and a movie.

-A yummy, home-cooked supper.

-Finishing my homework before going home.

-A purring lap cat (well... close enough).

-Spring in sight... or at least day dreams of it.

-A sleep-in day tomorrow.

-A new book to read that makes me giggle from page 1.

32 weeks

Here are some photos of Thumper and I at 32 weeks.

The top 2 pics are of the seven pregnant ladies of Parliament. We definitely have a good sized Sunday School class waiting to happen! Once Trisha has her's, we'll be having a baby or two a month at our church until the fall. :)

The second 2 pics are of Karri and I showing off the close cousins. Auntie Leone felt left out and decided to make an "announcement" of her own.
